Look, we're building a tool to roast CVs, not a surveillance empire. Here is how we handle your data when you use the public roasting tools.
BurntCV is in private beta. Features may change during this phase.
What we collect
When you paste your CV or LinkedIn profile text into our public roasters, we send it to Google Gemini through our existing API configuration to generate a dry but hopefully useful critique.
What we do with it
We use the text to return your roast. We do not save the raw CV or profile text in the free roast record, and we do not sell it to recruiters (they probably wouldn't buy it anyway). We retain the generated roast and your consent timestamp for a limited period so the service can operate and audit consent; those records expire automatically.
Third-party processors
The raw text is shared only with Google Gemini for the roast or optimisation request. Optimisation is currently free and no payment provider is involved in this phase. We do not scrape LinkedIn.
Registered users
If you sign in and use the dashboard, we store the job boards you save, the applications you track, and the notes you write. A roast record may be associated with your account, but the raw text is not stored. You can request deletion of personal data through the app owner.
